In a significant move towards resolving the prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced plans to table a settlement proposal within the coming months.

Speaking at a joint press conference with European Council President Charles Michel in Brussels, Zelensky emphasised Ukraine's stance against prolonging hostilities indefinitely.

"We do not want this war to endure for years," Zelensky asserted, addressing the devastating toll the conflict has exacted over the past two and a half years.

The president underscored the urgency of the situation, citing numerous casualties and emphasising the need for a concrete plan to achieve peace.
