Labour's Bridget Phillipson promises 3,000 new nurseries

Shadow education secretary Bridget Phillipson has promised 3,000 new nurseries and 100,000 new places for children if Labour come into government.

The plan sets out that classrooms that have been left empty because of falling birth rates will be converted so they can be used, with conversions being funded by revenue raised from ending tax breaks for private schools.
