Lava Shoots 164 Feet Into the Air as Iceland’s Period of Volcanic Dormancy Seemingly Comes to an End

This is the fifth such eruption since December, sparking worries that the volcanic hotspot upon which the island nation sits might be leaving its period of dormancy.

The most recent eruption occurred once again near the town of Grindavik.
