Saudi Arabia's ambitious project to construct a 170-kilometer-long, 500-meter-tall mirrored city in the desert, intended to accommodate 9 million people, has faced significant cutbacks.

Originally envisioned as a grand endeavour named "The Line," the project has been scaled back drastically, with plans now reduced to a mere 2.4 kilometres in length.
