Israel-Hamas War: Israeli military intelligence chief quits over failure to prevent attack| Oneindia

Major General Aharon Haliva, head of Israel’s military intelligence, resigned on Monday (Apr 22) in the aftermath of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack that claimed 1,200 lives, predominantly civilians.

Following the attack, Israel launched a significant offensive in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of over 34,000 Palestinians.

Major General Haliva's resignation marks the first high-ranking Israeli official to step down in the wake of the conflict.

He publicly acknowledged responsibility for failing to prevent the assault shortly after its occurrence in October last year.
