NHS waiting lists fall for fifth month in a row

Health Secretary Victoria Atkins revealed waiting lists for hospital treatment have fallen for the fifth month in a row as she insisted NHS targets are being met .

"We have seen waiting lists fall for four months in a row that's despite industrial action by junior doctors and we are putting a series of practical measures in place to try to help take the pressure off A&E departments," she added.
