UK courts should have 'thrown out' Julian Assange case, says wife of WikiLeaks founder

"The British courts should just have thrown out this case because it criminalises journalism," says Stella Assange, the wife of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, after two UK judges delayed a decision on whether to grant the 52-year-old a last-ditch appeal against extradition to the United States.

The delay gives Washington three weeks to provide further "assurances" that Assange -- an Australian citizen -- would not be prejudiced at trial or face the death penalty if convicted.
