Labour: PM’s Rwanda plan is a costly gimmick

Yvette Cooper said that Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda deportation scheme is a costly “gimmick” to get what the shadow home secretary described as “symbolic flights off just before an election.” Ms Cooper said that Labour would be “putting that investment into improving our border security, going after the criminal gangs, and also setting up a returns unit so that we make the system work.” Report by Covellm.
