China-Taiwan Maritime Standoff: 5 China coast guard ships enter waters around Kinmen | Oneindia

On Tuesday, Taiwan's Minister informed that five Chinese coast guard vessels breached restricted waters surrounding Kinmen, a frontline island under Taiwan's control.

This incident adds to the escalating tensions between Taiwan and Beijing.

China initiated regular patrols around Kinmen after two Chinese nationals tragically perished while attempting to flee Taiwan's coast guard in prohibited waters.

Kuan Bi-ling, leading Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council, emphasised the significance of this intrusion, describing it as a veiled declaration of sovereignty.
