Rishi Sunak has stopped short of directly saying that the comments made by Lee Anderson were Islamophobic, instead insisting that they were "wrong and unacceptable." Lee Anderson lost the Conservative whip over the weekend after failing to apologise for claiming โ€œIslamistsโ€ had โ€œgot controlโ€ of Sadiq Khan and London.
