Congressional support for Taiwan 'extremely strong': US lawmaker

The chairman of the US House of Representatives committee on China said Thursday that support in his country's legislature for Taiwan was "extremely strong".

"I actually think support for Taiwan in the United States Congress... I see growing and extremely strong support for Taiwan," said Mike Gallagher, who is heading a five-member delegation on a visit to the self-ruled island.
