Former Thai Premier Thaksin Freed From Detention Under Parole

Thaksin Shinawatra, Thailand’s convicted ex-prime minister, was freed from detention on Sunday after being granted special parole due to his old age and illness.

He was released six months before the end of his shortened jail term.
