Rishi Sunak: By-election defeats show there's work to do

Rishi Sunak appears to blame low voter turnout for the Conservative Party's double defeat in the Wellingborough and Kingswood by-elections.

The prime minister adds "there isn't a huge amount of enthusiasm" for Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer and urges the public to "stick with our plan".

Labour overturned majorities of 11,220 and 18,540, delivering the government’s ninth and tenth by-election defeats of the current Parliament and securing its second largest swing from the Conservatives ever.
