More than four months into the Israel-Hamas conflict, Prime Minister Netanyahu has directed the military to formulate a plan for evacuating civilians from Rafah, anticipating an imminent invasion of the densely populated southern Gaza City.

The relentless military offensive by Israel has forced over half of Gaza's 2.3 million residents towards the border with Egypt.

Adding another layer to the complexity, Israeli strikes targeted the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The strikes resulted in some reported 'material' losses.
