Port Vale Denies Robbie Williams Buyout Bid Rumour
Port Vale Football Club has denied rumours that singer Robbie Williams has made a bid to purchase the club.
The singer and former member of pop group Take That, was made president of the club over the weekend, and a number of national news outlets reported that he was preparing to buy the club.
Williams has been a lifelong fan of the Stoke-on-Trent club, having grown up in the area.
In 2006 Williams became the majority stakeholder Port Vale, with an investment of around 250 thousand pounds.
But if Robbie Williams ever did have a plan to buy the club, Port Vale seems adamant it has no knowledge of it.
