In a document posted on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's website, Tesla said that impacted models include 2023 versions of Models S, X and Y.

According to Tesla, a free over-the-air (OTA) software update has been released to address the potential issue.

Owners can reportedly expect notification letters of the changes to be mailed by March 22, 2024.

NBC reports that this is the 15th Tesla recall in the last year.

Issues related to Tesla's Autopilot driver-assist feature prompted the company to recall over 2 million vehicles, impacting nearly the entire U.S. fleet.
