A tragic incident that unfolded last week in Mali, shook the nation and claimed the lives of over 70 individuals.
Last Friday, January 19, an unregulated gold mine in Mali collapsed, leaving more than 70 people dead.
According to a senior official from the National Geology and Mining Directorate, Karim Berthe, the search operation is still underway.
Berthe feared that the death count could rise further as they continued to assess the situation.
