Canada announces cap on International Student admissions | What does it mean | Oneindia

Canada's response to the challenging housing crisis has had an expected impact on the enrollment of international students.

Following Canadian Immigration Minister Marc Miller's remarks in October, made under the backdrop of political pressure related to the housing crisis, the Justin Trudeau government declared a 35% reduction in international student admissions for the year 2024.

This reduction equates to 360,000 approved study permits, a significant decrease from the approximately 900,000 permits issued in 2023.
