Witness accounts described the powerful blast causing several houses to collapse, prompting a state of panic among residents who rushed into the streets for safety.

In an official statement, Governor Seyi Makinde confirmed the loss of two lives, while revealing that 77 individuals were undergoing treatment for injuries.

Fortunately, a majority of them had already been discharged, alleviating some of the immediate impacts of the tragic incident.
