Rishi Sunak reassures the public following severe flooding
Rishi Sunak has urged people to be "reassured" by the government's response to flooding throughout the UK.
It comes as the prime minister has faced calls to visit the areas that have been badly hit.
During a visit to Greater Manchester, Mr Sunak said people should be "reassured that the Environment Agency has got people on the ground in all the affected areas".
"It is important that people follow the advice that has been given in local areas where there are flood warnings that have been given," he added.
