Bournvita Row: Cadbury reduces added sugar by 15% from its popular drink after backlash | Oneindia
Cadbury's Bournvita chocolate 'health' drink has undergone a significant reduction in added sugar content, responding to concerns raised by a health influencer, Revant Himatsingka, eight months ago.
Previously, the drink contained 37.4 grams of added sugar per 100 grams of powder, but the latest packaging reveals a 14.4 percent reduction, bringing the sugar content down to 32.2 grams per 100 grams. This change follows criticism initiated by Revant Himatsingka, also known as Food Pharmer, a health influencer and social media activist, who drew attention to the high sugar levels.
Himatsingka shared the positive development in an Instagram reel, celebrating it as a "Big Win" for health-conscious consumers.
