Colorado's Highest Court , Disqualifies Donald Trump, From 2024 Primary Ballot.

On December 19, Colorado's Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump would be prohibited from being a candidate in the state's primary on constitutional grounds.

.

NBC reports that the first-of-its kind decision comes from a lawsuit focused on the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

A majority of the court holds that President Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, Colorado Supreme Court ruling, via NBC.

Because he is disqualified, it would be a wrongful act under the Election Code for the Colorado Secretary of State to list him as a candidate on the presidential primary ballot, Colorado Supreme Court ruling, via NBC.

The court emphatically stated that Secretary of State Jena Griswold , "may not list President Trumpโ€™s name on the 2024 presidential primary ballot, nor may she count any write-in votes cast for him.".

According to Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump's campaign, the ruling will be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

We have full confidence that the U.S. Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor and finally put an end to these un-American lawsuits, Steven Cheung, Spokesperson for Trumpโ€™s campaign, via NBC.

Trump's personal lawyer, Alina Habba, claimed the court's ruling , "attacks the very heart of this nationโ€™s democracy.

It will not stand, and we trust that the Supreme Court will reverse this unconstitutional order.".

In response to the ruling, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said the Republican Party would support Trump in his legal battle.
