'Newsweek' reports that both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of violating a temporary ceasefire to allow for the release of additional hostages.

The news comes one day after the temporary truce, which was mediated by the United States, Egypt and Qatar, was extended.

Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, said that the group would adhere to the ceasefire as long as the Israeli Defenses Forces (IDF) respect it as well.

The IDF claim that , "three explosive devices were detonated adjacent to IDF troops in two different locations in the northern Gaza Strip, violating the framework of the operational pause.".

In one of the locations, terrorists also opened fire at the troops, who responded with fire.

A number of soldiers were lightly injured during the incidents.

The news comes amid ongoing talks to further extend the truce which is set to expire on November 29.

Since the original ceasefire agreement was reached last week, 69 hostages have been released by Hamas, while Israel has released 150 Palestinian prisoners.

The vast majority of hostages released by both sides have been women, children and teens.
