UK Prime Minister says migration levels 'are too high' as figures show record numbers

Migration to the UK needs to "come down to more sustainable levels" says Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, after figures from the Office for National Statistics showed net migration to the UK hit a record high in 2022.

The figures have added to the pressure on Sunak, whose Conservative party has vowed to reduce new arrivals.
