President Putin lays flowers on Red Square for national Unity Day

Russian president Vladimir Putin lays flowers at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky on Moscow's Red Square to mark national Unity Day during a ceremony with the country's religious leaders, including the country's Jewish and Muslim representatives.

The holiday marks the expulsion of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth forces from Moscow in 1612.
