The British government, led by Defence Minister Grant Shapps, is considering deploying military instructors to Ukraine, supplementing the current practice of training Ukrainian armed forces in Britain or other Western countries.

Avoiding a formal military presence in Ukraine to mitigate the risk of direct conflict with Russia, Britain has provided five-week military training courses to approximately 20,000 Ukrainians over the past year.
