Starmer’s plans to avoid repeat of Truss mini-budget chaos
Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer has set out his plans to ensure the Office for Budget Responsibility assesses every major fiscal statement by the government, to avoid future market fallouts like the one sparked by Liz Truss in 2022.
During a visit to the London Stock Exchange, he said: “Just a year or so ago we had the disastrous mini-budget of Liz Truss and people are still paying the price for that and that can never be allowed to happen again.” Report by Buseld.
