Starmer calls for clarity over ‘strategic challenge’ China
Sir Keir Starmer has criticised the government’s “division and inconsistency” in its approach to China, after it emerged that a parliamentary researcher had been arrested on suspicion of spying for Beijing.
The Labour leader said: “China is a strategic challenge, that's for sure, and what we need is a policy that is clear and is settled.
And we haven't had that for the last 10 years.
We've had division and inconsistency from this government.” Report by Buseld.
