US’ Joe Biden administration bolsters Taiwan's defence with $345M military aid | Oneindia News
The United States has announced $345m in military aid for Taiwan, ramping up support for the self-ruled island that is claimed by China.
S President Joe Biden’s administration said that the package will include ‘defence articles’, military education and training.
The White House announcement did not elaborate on the weapons or equipment that would be provided.
The announcement prompted a retort from Beijing, which has promised to ‘reunify’ democratically ruled Taiwan with the Chinese mainland by force if necessary.
In a statement, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington, Liu Pengyu said that the US should stop selling arms to Taiwan.
