Netflix Lists $900,000 AI Job Amid Hollywood Strike

Netflix Lists $900,000 AI Job , Amid Hollywood Strike.

Writers and actors continue to be on strike in Hollywood over concerns about wages and AI.

In particular, they are protesting an offer made by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers to be paid $200 for their likenesses to be used as CGI forever.

SAG-AFTRA says compliance would allow the company to "own that scan, their image, their likeness, and be able to use it for the rest of eternity in any project they want with no consent and no compensation.".

Despite this, Netflix has posted a job listing "for a machine learning platform product manager," Engadget reports.

.

The listing says AI will be utilized to "create great content" and be integrated into "all areas of the business.".

The job pays between $300,000 to $900,000 a year.

Elsewhere on Netflix's website, it says that the company uses AI "to optimize the production of original movies and TV shows.".

Another AI job posting Netflix has listed for its gaming studio is the role of technical director for generative AI.

That job pays $650,000 a year.
