Starmer hails Labour triumph in Tory stronghold

Sir Keir Starmer has said Labour’s by-election success in Selby and Ainsty shows that the party “can win anywhere, including in places that were Tory strongholds.” Flanked by shadow Cabinet ministers and supporters at the grounds of Selby Town FC, the Labour leader said that the result was “absolutely incredible” and that overturning a 20,000 Conservative majority marks a first for the party.
