Olivia Pratt-Korbel’s mother calls for sentencing law change

The mother of murdered schoolgirl Olivia Pratt-Korbel has told ITV News she wants a change in the law to force criminals to face victims' families in court when they are sentenced.

In her first television interview, Cheryl Korbel has pleaded for "action not words" from the authorities.

Nine-year-old Olivia was shot dead by Thomas Cashman in Liverpool last summer as he ran through their home chasing a known drug dealer and gang member.

The 34-year-old was given a life sentence with a minimum term of 42 years for Olivia's murder, but refused to attend court when he was handed the sentence.
