A two-minute audio recording obtained by CNN appears to indicate that former President Donald Trump knowingly kept documents that weren't declassified.

Trump can be heard saying, "these are the papers," as well as, "highly confidential.".

CNN has referred to the recording as crucial evidence in Jack Smith's indictment of the former president.
