Today was the last day of a US-India joint exercise named ‘Tarkash’ in Chennai.

This was a joint exercise of India’s National Security Guard i.e the NSG… and US Special Operations Forces i.e SOF.

This was the 6th edition of this joint exercise….and it had included CBRN terror response in drills for the first time.

CBRN stands for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear.

This new drill was made part of the exercise in the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Last year, Russia had accused Ukraine of orchestrating a chemical attack in Kharkiv to blame Russia in order to receive aid from western countries.
