Yesterday, a visit by Ben Gvir, Israel’s far-right and firebrand leader to the ‘Al-Aqsa’ compound in Jerusalem has again given rise to the prospect of a renewed hostilities between Israel and Palestine.

This visit by Ben-Gvir came just days after he took office as the National Security Minister… giving his decision to enter the highly sensitive site considerable weight.

And this is not the first time, Al-Aqsa has been the flashpoint between Israel and Palestine.

Last year also, tension had flared at the compound in which over 170 were wounded after Israeli police entered the compound while worshippers gathered for early morning prayers.
