Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek on Longtime Friendship and Love for Their Puss in Boots: The Last Wish Characters at NYC Premie

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish stars Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Harvey Guillen, and Wagner Moura hit the red carpet for the premiere of the animated film last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

We chat with Banderas about his beloved feline character, whom the world first saw in 2004's Shrek 2 .

Puss in Boots went on to get his own spin-off movies Puss in Boots (2011) and Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos (2012), making it ten years since the last release.

'It's almost like visiting an old friend,' the actor said about returning to the role.

Hayek, who has been friends with Banderas for decades, said she loved working with her longtime co-star.

'Sometimes we improvise as Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws because we just love the characters,' she told us.
