Justice DY Chandrachud took oath as the 50th Chief Justice of India (CJI) on Wednesday, after over six years as a judge of the Supreme Court.

He will have a tenure of two years at the Supreme Court.

He will succeed Justice Uday Umesh Lalit as the 50th Chief Justice of the country.
