Sturgeon to Sunak: No more austerity and call an election

Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon congratulates Rishi Sunak for being nominated Tory leader, saying she will do her “very best” to build a working relationship with him.

She goes on to urge the incoming prime minister to call a general election and warns him against “unleashing another wave of austerity.

She also says Sunak has no mandate in Scotland and “probably wouldn’t be elected in Scotland even if we were given the chance”.
