Babies in the Womb React to the Foods Mom Eats, Study Shows

A new UK study is believed to have found the first direct evidence that babies in the womb react differently to varying tastes and smells.

Researchers at Durham University observed fetuses from more than 70 pregnant women, all between 32 and 36 weeks old.

Many of the prenatal babies were recorded smiling (or showing โ€˜laughter-faceโ€™) after their mothers ate a carrot.

Most of the fetuses were recorded frowning (or showing โ€˜cry-faceโ€™) when their mothers ate kale.
