The flood situation triggered by the disaster along the Mahanadi river system in Odisha remains grim and amid heavy rainfall and water logging, over 4.67 lakh people in 1,757 villages in 10 districts of Odisha have been affected so far.

Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Kumar Jena in a statement on Wednesday said that in the midst of the flood-like situation, 60,000 people have been evacuated to safe places.
