Labour: Rwanda policy is shameful and shambolic

Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper says the policy to send asylum seekers to Rwanda is "shameful" and that the home secretary "only has herself to blame" that the first flight due to depart last night was cancelled after a last-minute intervention from the European Court of Human Rights.

Priti Patel says the government "remains committed" to the policy and that preparations for future flights "have already begun".
