Liquor stocks are rallying today, here's why | Oneindia News
Following news of the Punjab government's new excise policy, liquor stocks surged in today's trade.
The Punjab government has permitted the sale of an unrestricted quota of beer and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) as part of the excise policy 2022-23, which is likely to lower liquor costs by 35-60% starting July 1.
Furthermore, the state is predicted to earn Rs 9,647.85 crore in the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 6,158 crore in 2021-22, as a result of the new policy.
