London’s new £19bn Elizabeth line opens after 40-month delay

The new £19bn Elizabeth line has opened in central London, 40 months later than planned.

The line runs for more than 100km from Reading and Heathrow Airport in the west to Abbey Wood and Shenfield in the east.
