Manhole Explosion Sends Crowds Running in Times Square

The loud blast from a manhole explosion caused crowds to flee in New York’s Times Square Sunday night.

The FDNY said three manholes were on fire — energy company Con Edison later confirmed that the sound was due to cable failure.
