Labour: Blunt defence of Khan ‘incredibly disappointing’

Labour minister Thangam Debbonaire says Crispin Blunt’s defence of fellow MP Imran Ahmad Khan is ‘incredibly disappointing”.

Mr Khan was yesterday found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in 2008.

Mr Blunt posted online that the conviction was a “dreadful miscarriage of justice”, although he has subsequently removed the post and apologised for the “significant upset and concern” caused by his remarks.
