NFL Announces All COVID-Related Protocols To Be Suspended

On March 3, the NFL and the NFL Players Association suspended all COVID-related rules following almost two years of restrictions.

'Newsweek' reports that the NFL released a memo telling players there will no longer be mandatory testing regardless of vaccination status.

"Based on current encouraging trends regarding the prevalence and severity of COVID-19, the evolving guidance from the CDC, changes to state law and the counsel of our respective experts, the NFL and NFLPA have agreed to suspend all aspects of the joint COVID-19 Protocols," the league memo read.

We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of players, coaches and staff, as we have throughout the pandemic," the memo added.

In addition to this, players and staff will no longer be required to wear masks in club facilities.

Any players or staff experiencing COVID symptoms are expected to report to club medical staff and provide negative test results to return to club facilities.

Any individual who tests positive will reportedly be required to isolate for five days.

'Newsweek' reports that the NFL's announcement comes as many states have begun loosening their COVID-related restrictions.

Thursday's announcement is a sign of things getting back to how they used to be prior to the 2020 season and the COVID-19 pandemic, NFL statement, via 'Newsweek'
