White House Unveils National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan

White House Unveils , National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan.

CNN reports White House officials have presented plans to help the nation move toward a new stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National COVID-19 Preparedness Plan, unveiled on March 2, hopes to help the country to a point where coronavirus "does not disrupt our daily lives.".

The plan will also allocate funds to prepare for any variants that may emerge in the future.

Vaccines, treatments, tests, masks -- these tools are how we continue to protect people and enable us to move forward safely and get back to our more normal routines.

Officials say one of the plan's important new ideas is the "Test to Treat" initiative announced by President Joe Biden during his recent State of the Union address.

"Test to Treat" would allow Americans to receive antiviral pills for free at their local pharmacy "on the spot" if they test positive for coronavirus.

"One-Stop Test to Treat" locations will reportedly begin operations later this month.

Paxlovid, the antiviral pill Americans can soon procure for free, has been found to reduce severe illness and hospitalization associated with COVID-19.

The White House has reportedly ordered 20 million treatment courses in preparation for the rollout of "Test to Treat.".

We look to a future when Americans no longer fear lockdowns, shutdowns, and our kids not going to school.
