Taliban releases all prisoners after taking Talukan city

Video shows prisoners in Talukan city are walking free from prison facility on Aug 8, 2021 as the city falls in Taliban control.

The number of provincial centers in which Afghan government forces lost control against the Taliban rose to 5 after the Talukan city, the center of the northeastern Tahar province, was seized by the group.

Acting Tahar Provincial Council Ruhullah Raufi said the Taliban launched an attack on the central Talukan city of Tahar about two weeks ago.
