MILITARY: Russia army demonstrates latest minefield sweeping tactics
Russia army's engineers and sappers of the Airborne Forces provided the paratroopers with a passage through the minefield during the exercise near Pskov in Russia.
As part of the final stage of a special tactical exercise with the engineering and sapper units of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation, which was held under the leadership of the Chief of the Engineering Service of the Airborne Forces Colonel Ilya Shatin, the sappers ensured the passage of the advancing airborne assault units through the mine and explosive obstacles.
In accordance with the plan of the exercise, the engineering reconnaissance department of the traffic support detachment detected an explosion of the vehicle in front, after which the personnel of the engineering support group, in order to provide cover for the subunits, prepared a bulk protective shaft along the front using the KMT-6 rut mine sweep of the IMR- 2 on the basis of the T-72 tank.
