NHS announces plasma appeal to combat shortage of donors

The NHS blood transfusion service urgently needs nearly 15,000 volunteers to meet a shortfall in antibody medicines known as immunoglobulins.Many of those in need of plasma are clinically vulnerable people who have been shielding during the Covid-19 pandemic.
